Kilter Rural’s business model was built from an initial $400 million investment by Vic Super which resulted in the purchase of 37 individual farms occupying 9,000 ha near Swan Hill in western Victoria. Over the past 2 years they have worked with the Wentworth Group and its associates, including CSIRO Agriculture and Food, to produce the first farm scale Environmental Account developed under the Accounting for Nature® Framework. This farm scale condition account currently measures three environmental assets: native vegetation, soil and groundwater. It also aspires to measure native fauna.
