Significant Outcomes.
The Econd® score for soil condition is 84, which is relatively high given the significant landscape alteration represented by open pastures with introduced species and low diversity. In comparison, the Soil Pcond score is 96, with all indicators within range except for groundcover.
Limitations & disclosures.
The main limitation of this account is the confidence level in the expert assessment of reference conditions for Strzelecki association soils. These fertile, deep soils were prioritized for clearing and development from around 1875. No empirical data exist before the 1960s when formal soil surveys began, after nearly 100 years of change. Few relatively undisturbed sites remain, such as the Pioneer Reserve in Kongwak, which may offer useful reference data for refining future Econd® values
