About the account.

The Bulgoo NaturePlus™ Native Vegetation Restoration Account is associated with 6,940 hectares of protected native forest from the Cobar Peneplain bioregion of New South Wales. The Environmental account will assist in guiding the land managers decision making regarding the management of the vegetation including but not limited to the maintenance of forest cover and restoration of understory species, by providing a measure of the change in condition over time.

Bulgoo station is primarily flat country, ringed with a mountainous range. The vegetation on the property is predominately open woodland dominated by White Cypress Pine and Poplar Box. These woodlands are important for conservation, with White Cypress Pine woodlands being the focus of the nearby Paddington Nature Reserve, and Poplar Box woodlands being a priority vegetation type for retention and re-establishment in the Cobar Peneplain.

The goal of the project is to measure native vegetation condition and quantify change over time for the issuance of Biodiversity credits under the NaturePlus Scheme. A sub-set of the anticipated NaturePlus project project land management activities are governed by a pre-existing ACCU Scheme carbon project registered with the Australian Government’s Clean Energy Regulator. Additional management activities will be articulated under the NaturePlus™ Environmental Asset Adaptive Management Strategy.
