About the account.
Wollemi and Permagen, a plantings-focused carbon project developer, have partnered to develop a portfolio of high-integrity Environmental Plantings projects under the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) scheme. Wollemi’s project-level equity financing is being used to fund the land acquisition and development costs of these projects.
The Elouera Biodiverse Reforestation project will drive large-scale native reforestation in New South Wales’ Brigalow Belt South Bioregion. This initiative aims to restore a landscape previously impacted by intensive agriculture and invasive species. The project will entail planting a mix of native species including Eucalyptus populnea, Acacia pendula, Casuarina cristata, and others.
Designed to boost nature connectivity, the project will create forest corridors linking to the adjacent Pilliga West National Park and Baradine Creek. The area features flat alluvial sandy loam to clay soils with floodplains and gilgais. Wollemi and Permagen will monitor the project's progress using the Accounting for Nature® Standard and the Native Vegetation Assessment Methodology from Bush Heritage Australia.

About Wollemi.
Wollemi is a global investment firm specialising in climate initiatives, with a strong emphasis on natural capital. The company has funded over 10 nature-based carbon projects across Australia. Collectively, these projects are anticipated to sequester more than 20 million tonnes of carbon over their lifetimes, covering approximately 3.5 million hectares and involving the planting of over 1 million trees in 2024 alone.
Wollemi has collaborated with various project developers, each possessing specialist expertise in different nature-based methods, to create projects across a wide range of landscapes. These biodiverse native regeneration and reforestation projects contribute to larger forest corridors connected to adjacent national parks and deliver significant benefits for nature.
