What is a Portfolio Account?
A Portfolio Account is a collection of individual Environmental Accounts that are separately registered but grouped and managed under a single entity, known as the Portfolio Manager, within the Accounting for Nature® Environmental Account Registry. This structure allows for a coordinated approach to managing and reporting on multiple environmental assets, each with its own unique characteristics.
How does a Portfolio Account work?
Each Environmental Account within a portfolio is independently registered and can cover different types of assets, utilise distinct methods, and have varying baseline metrics. Despite these differences, the Portfolio Account brings them together, enabling streamlined management and oversight.
One of the key advantages of a Portfolio Account is the ability for both the individual Account Holder and the Portfolio Manager to make claims. This dual-claim system ensures that environmental outcomes are accurately reflected and recognised across the entire portfolio.
